Debra Ann Cupelli

December 15, 1955 — August 4, 2015

Debra Ann "Debbie" Driscoll Cupelli, 59, of Morgantown, passed away unexpectedly on August 4, 2015 at Ruby Memorial Hospital. She was born December 15, 1955 in Butler, PA, daughter of Audrey M. Driscoll and the late John Wylie Driscoll, Jr. As everyone who knew her would say, Debbie always lived life her way and made no compromise when it came to what she thought was right. She had been with her husband, Jim, for over 40 years and they loved each other dearly until the end and now beyond. Their love went beyond themselves, having rescued numerous stray animals, including their current brood, cats Tomba, Tylo, Tyson and Kiki. Although Debbie will be especially remembered for her love and compassion for animals of all kinds, her kindness and compassion extended to all areas of her life. She worked many years as a caseworker, caring for people with special needs. She had a big heart and would do anything for those who needed help. If you asked Debbie who was her best friend, she would say it was her mother. They did everything together and would often talk on the phone until the wee hours of the morning. She was a devoted daughter and loved her mother very much. Debbie was preceded in death by her father, John Wylie Driscoll, Jr., and her brothers, John Wylie Driscoll, III and Daniel Thomas Driscoll. She is survived by her husband, Richard James Cupelli, Jr. of Morgantown; her mother, Audrey M. Driscoll of Morgantown; sister, Nancy J. Crabbe and spouse, niece, Audra and nephew, Driscoll, of Atlanta, GA; her brother, Donald Ray Driscoll and spouse, niece, Sarah and nephew, Cameron of Chattanooga, TN; her sister-in-law, Nancy A. Green and spouse of Washington, PA., niece, Tricia Suschak and spouse of Morgantown, and her nephew, James Todd Green and spouse of Asheville, NC. Also surviving is father-and mother-in-law Richard and Madeline Cupelli of Morgantown, WV. Debbie's family is honoring her wishes for cremation to take place. A private memorial service will be held at a later time. To honor Debbie's love and compassion for animals, the family requests that donations in her memory be made to The Monongalia County Humane Society at www.moncountyhumanesociety.org. The family would like to thank the staff of Ruby Memorial Hospital's SCIU and Hospice Care Corporation for their care during the final period of her life. Fred L. Jenkins Funeral Home is assisting the family with arrangements. Condolences may be sent to the family at www.fredjenkinsfuneralhome.com.
