David Joseph Pompili, 67, of Rivesville passed away on Tuesday March 15, 2011 at his home. David was born February 14, 1944 in Morgantown, son of the late Adam and Madeline Pompili. David was most recently employed as an insurance salesman. David graduated from Morgantown High School where he was a talented drummer in the Morgantown High Band. He later graduated from WVU where he was a member of the ROTC. He had many accomplishments throughout his life but was most proud of becoming an Eagle Scout. He was also delighted to be member of the Beaumont Dance Club. David is survived by his wife Denise Pompili; son Chris Martin of Ft. Myers, FL; daughter Gina Pompili of Denver, CO; brother Philip Pompili and his wife Kathy of Morgantown; sister Catherine Kitty' Hagner and husband Arthur Bud' of Lebanon, TN; step-daughters Amy Sweeney and husband Paul of High Springs, FL, Karen Tinkum of Lakewood, CO and Joan Hopp of Vernal, UT. Also surviving are his 10 wonderful grandchildren who he adored; nieces Maria Pompili and Stacey Moore and nephew Jason Pompili. In addition to his parents David was preceded in death by one brother Michael Mickey' Pompili. Honoring his wishes cremation was provided by the Fred L. Jenkins Funeral Home. Friends may call at the Avery United Methodist Church on Saturday March 19, 2011 from 10am until services at 11am with Pastor Richard Work officiating.
