David Wesley Mcdonald

David Wesley McDonald, 55 of Independence, passed away Thursday, October 24, 2019, at his home surrounded by his loving family.

The son of the late Vincent and Marcilla McDonald, he was born February 23, 1964, in Morgantown.

David was a member of Oak Grove Baptist Church, where he was very active with the church bus ministries and the prison ministries. David was a family man and will be dearly missed by all who knew him.

David is survived by his wife, Dorrit McDonald; a daughter, Allauna Young and her husband, Michael; two sons, David Wesley McDonald, II, and Nathaniel Harris and his companion, Erica Butcher; five grandchildren: Raulin Watring, Adellyn Watring, Aura Young, Nathaniel Harris, Jr., and Natalia McDonald; and several other children who have become a part of his life. Also surviving, a brother, Ricky McDonald and his wife, Joy; three sisters, Catherine Jefferson and her husband, George ‘Randy’, Star McDonald, and Sandra Souch and her husband, Mike; one uncle and three aunts; and several nieces and nephews.

Family and friends will be received at Fred L. Jenkins Funeral Home, Sunday from 3pm to 6pm. Visitation will continue Monday, October 28, 2019 at Oak Grove Baptist Church, 1081 Oak Grove Road Independence, WV 26374, from 10am until the 11am funeral service with Pastor Craig Johnson officiating. Burial will follow at Knottsville Cemetery, Grafton, WV.
