David Mccarty

David Neal McCarty, 41, of Morgantown, passed away on Saturday, December 10, 2022 at home surrounded by his loved ones. David was born in Morgantown on March 4, 1981 to Marlene and the late Scott McCarty.

In addition to his father, David was preceded in death by his brother, Philip McCarty, and in-laws, Delmas and Peggy Molisee.

He is survived by his loving wife, Cheryl McCarty; sons, Josiah and Elijah McCarty; his mother, Marlene McCarty; his sister, Connie Johns; step mother in law, Debbie Molisee; brother-in-law, Michael (Rebecca) Molisee; sisters-in-law, Jordan Molisee & Kristy (Brian) Poling; and niece, McKenzie Johns.

David was a music lover at heart; some of his most treasured moments were spent playing his guitar and listening to his favorite songs, the soundtrack to a life well-lived. In his spare time, away from his music and shooting pool, he was also something of a history buff, spending countless hours watching the History Channel and learning whatever he could. David was an avid collector of all things G.I. Joe and had a great fondness for the beach, but loved nothing more than being a father to his children and a husband to his wife. He was always ready to support a friend in need, and that gracious helping hand will be dearly missed by the ones he loved.

Cremation services have been entrusted to the Fred L. Jenkins Funeral Home. In lieu of flowers, the family has kindly asked that donations be made to the funeral home.
