David Dana Allum, 59, of Morgantown, passed away on Sunday, May 14, 2017 in Annapolis, MD following a long illness. Dave was born May 6, 1958 in Waynesburg, PA son to the late James and Lucille McCartney Allum.

Dave worked as the director of maintenance for more than 32 years at the Presbyterian Church, Spruce Street, Morgantown. He was a licensed contractor and electrician. He was an avid gun collector, coin collector and enjoyed hunting. Dave was always putting the needs of others first. Even during his illness, his concern for his friends and family was always on his mind. His compassionate, caring nature and kind hearted spirit will be missed by his closest family members but especially his wife and best friend. He was a wonderful husband and friend.

Dave is survived by his wife of 38 years, Thelma Allum; special nephew, who was more like a son to Dave, Tracy Nestor of Morgantown; sisters, Susie Franks and husband Albert of Bobtown, PA, Pamela DeCarlo, Betty Jean King both of Morgantown and Ellen Lentz and husband Troy, Colorado, TX; brother-in-law David Nestor and wife Janet of Philippi, WV. Also surviving are many nieces, nephews; great nieces and nephews and extended family.

In addition to his parents, Dave was preceded in death by his siblings, Loretta Schartiger, Larry Mark Allum, James ‘Butch’ Allum, Jr. and PFC Daniel E. Allum.

Family will receive friends at the Fred L. Jenkins Funeral Home on Wednesday, May 17, 2017 from 5 until 8pm and again on Thursday from 10am until time of services at 11am with Dave’s good friend, Rev. James L. Paugh, Sr. and Pastor Dolly Smith officiating. Burial will follow at the Beverly Hills Memorial Gardens.
