Darris Arthur Lewis, 80, of Kingwood Pike went to be with the Lord on Friday, May 1, 2015 at Ruby Memorial Hospital, following a long illness. He was born in Morgantown, WV on April 16, 1935 son to the late Lloyd and Inus Murray Lewis. Darris was a retired coal miner from Martinka and Humphrey mines. He loved to sing and play his guitar. He attended the Mt. View Free Methodist Church. Darris is survived by his wife of 61 years, Laura Dalton Lewis; his son Gerald Lewis and wife Linda of Reedsville; daughter Tammie Tennant and husband Steve of Grafton; six grandchildren, Eric Lewis, Kevin Lewis and wife Amy, Kelsey Lewis, Brody Lewis and fiancée Nicole Spindler, Zach and Lauren Tennant; two great grandchildren, Annalie and Connor Lewis. He is also survived by a brother Robert Lewis and wife Shirley; sister, Audrey Summers and husband Ray; brother-in-law Raymond Dalton; sister-in-law Audrey McMillen and several nieces and nephews. In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by his brothers Edgar Murray, Ralph, Dale, Gerald and Clarence Lewis and two sisters Dana Hall and Ardith McDonald. Friends will be received at the Fred Jenkins Funeral Home on Monday May 4, 2015 from 5 to 8pm and again on Tuesday from 9am until time of services at 11am with Rev. David Spence officiating. Burial will follow at the Nicholson Chapel Cemetery. In lieu of flowers donations may be made to Hospice Care Corp, 519 Delta Road Arthurdale, WV 26520.
