Cyprien Lokko

Dr. Cyprien Lokko was born in Accra-Ghana on the 20th of November, 1974 to Christian Barnor Lokko and Beatrice Ablah Lokko (nee Awadzi). He was the oldest son of four siblings, and the only male.

Cyprien had his undergraduate education in Ghana, West Africa. He earned his masters from Central Washington University in Ellensburg, WA, and doctorate from West Virginia University. Upon graduation, he was offered a job as an Education Counselor with the West Virginia University Athletics Department (Football Division). Within three years, he was promoted to Assistant Director and Tutor Coordinator. Dr. Lokko was also an adjunct faculty member of both Grantham University (Kansas) and Santa Fe College (Florida).

Cyprien married the love of his life, Sheila Asomani on the 28th of May 2005. Together they have a daughter Gabrielle. Cyprien was fiercely protective of his family. He was a devoted husband and a proud father.

Cyprien was raised in a Christian family. He was an active member of Fresh Harvest Assembly of God (WV). He spent the last hours of 2015, praying with his family and praising God. His last public message on Facebook on January 1, demonstrated his passion for God in all circumstances. He passed away unexpectedly on January 7th 2016, leaving a huge hole in the lives of all who knew him.

Dr. Cyprien Lokko was preceded in death by his mother, Mrs. Beatrice Ablah Lokko and is survived by his wife, Mrs. Sheila Lokko and daughter, Gabrielle; his father Mr. Christian Lokko, and his siblings Dr. Christine Lokko-Richter, Mrs. Juliana-Ankrah and Dr. Leticia Lokko.

A Night of Tributes would be held at Fresh Harvest Assemblies of God Church at 275 Canyon Road in Morgantown on the 29th of January at 7p.m.

There will be a public viewing at the Jenkins Funeral Home (10 S High St, Morgantown, WV 26501) at 9 a.m. on Saturday, January 30th, with funeral services following at 11 a.m.

Dr. Cyprien Lokko will be laid to rest at the Beverly Hills Memorial Gardens in Morgantown (1290 Fairmont Rd, Morgantown, WV 26501).
