Clarence Edwin Swanger, 68, of Morgantown passed away on Wednesday December 21, 2016 at Ruby Memorial Hospital. He was born August 4, 1948 in Morgantown a son of the late Clarence Wesley Swanger and Shirley Ammons Fortney.
Clarence worked many years as a coal miner. He retired from Blacksville #2 Mine and was a member of the UMWA.
He is survived by his beloved wife of 46 years Nancy Swanger; two sons Eddie Swanger and fiancé Jamie Sealy, Robert Swanger all of Morgantown; grandchildren Sarah Stone, Carlee Stone, Izabelle Swanger, Jesse Stone, and Pearl Swanger.
In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by his daughter Christina Stone, and an infant sister Janice Swanger.
Honoring Clarence’s wishes cremation has been arranged by Fred L. Jenkins Funeral Home.
The family would like to thank Dr. Horan and the staff at Core Health Care for all of the care given to Clarence over the years, and the family would also like to thank Kelly, Marshall, and Donna Rae for the support they have given the family.
