Charles Edward Sanders, Jr.

Charles Edward Sanders, Jr., affectionately known as Chuck to his friends and family, passed away on December 4th, 2023, at St. Joseph’s Hospital in Buckhannon, WV. Born in Morgantown on October 19, 1943, Chuck was a son of the late Charles E. Sanders, Sr. and Margaret Plum Sanders.

Chuck's legacy lives on through his children, Joseph Sanders and wife Sherry, Mike Sanders and wife Donna, Morgan Sanders, Honda Hill, Maureena Farley and husband Kenny; his stepchildren, James Michael Wensell, Jr., Jason Wensell, and Joe Wensell, alongside his many adoring grandchildren and great-grandchildren who brightened his days. He is also remembered by his siblings Gene Sanders, Audrey Sanders, Mary Cupp, and Llonda 'Sis' McIlvain. In addition to his parents, Chuck was preceded in death by his first wife, Betty Sanders; his second wife, Nancy Sanders; and siblings Ernest Gross, Hoover Sanders, Ed Hilling, and Wilma Nyoka Glover.

A man of the outdoors, Chuck found solace in the tranquility of nature. He spent countless hours hunting and fishing, passing down the skills and love for the wilderness to the next generations. His talents extended to his woodworking, where he crafted with the skill and attention to detail that made his creations a staple in the homes of family and friends.

Friends and family are invited to gather at Fred L. Jenkins Funeral Home on Friday, December 8, 2023, from 11 am until the time of the funeral service at 1 pm. Chuck will be laid to rest at Nicholson Chapel Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the family.
