Charles Leonard Osborne Charles Leonard Osborne, 83 of Lower Hildebrand Road, Morgantown passed away on Friday, May 18, 2012 at his residence. He was born March 15, 1929 in Booth, the son of the late Gilbert Lee and Lora Virginia Smith Osborne. Charles served his country for 20 years in the U S Air Force having being stationed in Korea, Japan, England, Philippines and many states within the United States. He served his country in 3 wars, WW11, the Korean Conflict and the Vietnam War. Charles was a member of VFW Post 9916, a retired coal miner and member UMWA Blacksville # 1 Local 1588, also a member of the Moose and the American Legion. Charles is survived by 2 sons and their wives Charles L. (Lenny) and Beverly Sapp Osborne of Bruceton Mills, WV and Stephen L. and Laura Wrachford Osborne of Lower Hildebrand Rd., Morgantown; 2 Brothers Thomas Osborne and Terry Osborne both of Morgantown; 4 sisters Eloise Rundle and Loretta (Junie) Aldredge both of Fairmont, Helen Brock of Princeton WV and Kathy Osborne of Morgantown. Also surviving are 7 grandsons James, Jeremy and wife Erin, Peter and wife Lisa, Kevin and wife Casey, Casey and wife Cassie, Benjamin, and Zachary and wife Amy, one great granddaughter Leigh, six great grandsons Raven, Connor, Wyatt, Seth, Gavin and Kyle. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife of 60 years Rebecca June Bowser Osborne. Friends may call at the Fred L. Jenkins Funeral Home on Thursday, May 24, 2012 from 10am until the time of services at 1pm with the Rev. John Morgan officiating. Burial will follow in the Arnettsville Cemetery with military honors by VFW Post 9916 and members of the US Air Force.
