Charles John Kosten

Charles John Kosten, 55, of Western Ave., Morgantown passed away on Monday, March 22, 2010 at his residence. He was born June 5, 1954 in Trenton, NJ, the son of the late Andrew and Connie McFall Kosten. Charlie was co owner of Crockett’s Pub in Star city as well as Kosten Construction. He received his bachelors Degree from Stockton State University, and his Masters Degree from WVU in wildlife management. Being an avid outdoorsman and hunter, he was president of the New Jersey Fur Trappers Association, a long term member of the Cape May, NJ beach patrol, president of the Cape May Benevolent Association. He also was the co founder of the Crockett’s Charity Golf Tournament, but was known best for being a prankster. Charlie is survived by his son Chad Kosten, his daughter Kerri Kosten, the mother of his children Linda Straface Kosten all of Morgantown, a brother Paul Kosten of NJ, two sisters Dianna Jones Kosten of Texas and Connie Miltenberger of Missouri. Also surviving is his step mother Patricia Kosten of NJ. Friends may call at the Fred L. Jenkins Funeral Home on Wednesday, March 24, 2010 from 2-4 and 7-9pm and again Thursday from 10am until the time of services at 11am with Rev. James Mohrman officiating. Burial will follow in the East Oak Grove Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donation in Charlie’s memory to the Kerri Kosten Fund for Eye Research c/o WVU Foundation 1 Waterfront Place, Box 1650, Morgantown, WV 26507.
