Charles M. Gazsi

Charles M. Gazsi, 83, of Morgantown, passed away Saturday, October 29, 2022 at Sundale Nursing Home. He was born April 21, 1939 in Star City, WV, a son of the late Kalman and Agnes Enyedi Gazsi.

Charles honorably served his country for 4 years as a jet mechanic in the US Air Force. After his military service, he went to work for The Pentagon for 11 years. He then returned to Morgantown and worked for the US Post Office and then NIOSH, with the GSA, until his retirement.

Charles was a simple man, but was passionate about his vegetable and flower gardens. He took great pride in caring for them.

He is survived by his beloved wife Jeannette Page Gazsi; sons Michael Gazsi and wife Jennifer, Charles Gazsi, Jr. and wife Kelly; daughter Myra Willard; grandchildren Christy Fitzpatrick and husband Rusty, Jason Willard and wife Lori, Tina Gazsi, Shawn Gazsi, Paul Gazsi; seven great grandchildren Alana Conrad, Tyler Conrad, Courtney Willard, Zachary Brozik, Megan Brozik, Evelyn Gazsi, Eliza Fitzpatrick all of Morgantown; and a nephew John Gazsi and wife Claudia of Lititz, PA.

In addition to his parents, Charles was preceded in death by a son Paul Gazsi; brothers Frank Balint, Kalman Gazsi; and a granddaughter Sarah Conrad.

The family will receive friends at Fred L. Jenkins Funeral Home on Wednesday, November 2, 2022 from 10am until the time of the funeral service at 12pm noon with Rusty Fitzpatrick officiating.  Burial will follow at East Oak Grove Cemetery with military honors.
