Catherine Corwin Shine, 86, of Osage, left this earth on Saturday March 17, 2012 in the arms of her Savior with her family by her side. She was born April 20, 1925 in Morgantown a daughter to the late Charles and Bertha Murphy Corwin. Catherine was an original member of Bailey Mission Church in Osage, and was a member and attended Mt. Calvary Assembly of God where she was a Sunday School teacher, piano player, and secretary. She was a prayer warrior and never missed an opportunity to share the gospel with anyone. She worked for the United States Postal Service as a postal clerk in Osage for 30 years. She also volunteered at Monongalia General Hospital for 19 years. Catherine was a loving and devoted mother, grandmother, great grandmother and great-great grandmother. She was the last surviving member of her siblings. She is survived by her children Sandra Buchanan and husband Ron, Priscilla Croston and husband Paul, Vicki Fox and husband David who cared for her the last two weeks, C. Victor Shine and wife Patty, Kathy Jackson and husband Ralph, Lawrence Shine and wife Debra, and Robin Dugan and husband John with whom she made her home; her adoring grandchildren Ronald Buchanan and wife Anna, Frances Pride and husband Ed, Diana Lofstead and husband Chris, Paul Croston and wife Stacy, Capt. Gary Croston and wife Kari, Pamela Fox, David Fox Jr., Kerri Schaller and husband Ray, Holly Fox, Bethany Shine, Catherine Hart and husband Derek, Stephanie Shine, Nicholas Shine, Elena Dugan and Hannah Dugan; 17 great grandchildren, three great-great grandchildren, and her best friend Pauline Smith. In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her husband Victor Shine; brothers John Corwin, Clayton Corwin, Chester Corwin, Charles Corwin, Thomas Corwin and Paul Corwin; and grandson Adam Shine. Friends will be received at the Fred L. Jenkins Funeral Home Tuesday March 20, 2012 from 3-5pm & 7-9pm and again on Wednesday from 11am until time of services at noon with Pastor Fred Tomlinson officiating. Burial will follow at Beverly Hills Memorial Gardens.
