Catherine Corder

Catherine “Cathie” Irene Corder, nèe Alekna, passed away at home August 9th, 2018. She was born in August 4, 1943 in Export, PA, a daughter of the late Alex and Catherine Alekna.

Cathie earned a Master’s Degree in nursing and was a Registered Nurse at Ruby Memorial Hospital for 35 years. Cathie attended St. Mary Catholic Church in Star City for many years, before her health began to decline.

She is survived by her husband of 48 years, George Corder. Also, surviving are several nieces, nephews, and cousins. She like doing crafts and was a great cook. Cathie also was a great seamstress. She loved her family very much and spending time with them was one of her favorite activities.

Family and friends will be received at Fred Jenkins Funeral Home, Monday, August 13, 2018 from 11am until the time of services at 1pm with Rev. Fr. John V. DiBacco officiating. Burial will follow at East Oak Grove Cemetery.
