Devoted wife, mother and grandmother, Carol Ann Nunnie' Montague, 66, of Morgantown passed away at her home on Tuesday December 6, 2011 following a courageous two year battle with cancer. She was born January 14, 1945 in Pittsburgh, PA daughter to the late Charles and Maryann Muscrella Crisson. Carol was a graduate of Turkeyfoot Valley High School, Confluence, PA, where she excelled at cheerleading. She went on to coach cheerleading at the St. Francis High School and Suncrest Junior High. Her cheerleading spirit didn't end after she stopped coaching; there was no bigger cheerleader for the Pittsburgh Steelers than Carol. Carol had consideration to help others in need and dedicated much of her time to various charities and organizations, such as the ASPCA, St. Jude's and WVU Children's Hospitals, Wounded Soldiers of America, the National Law Enforcement Fallen Officers Memorial Fund and the American Cancer Society. For the past 21 years Carol worked as an instrument technician at the WVU Hospitals. She was Catholic by faith. Surviving are her husband of nearly 50 years, Tom Montague; three sons, James Jim' Montague and wife Lori, Doug Montague with Joanne Dallas and Jeff Montague with Maria Stoehr all of Morgantown; seven grandchildren, Forrest, Jimmy, River, Tommy, Paige, Emily and Douglas Joseph DJ'. Also surviving is her brother Hoyte Crisson of Frostburg, MD; sisters-in-law and many nieces and nephews. Honoring Carol's wishes, cremation services were arranged by the Fred L. Jenkins Funeral Home. Memorial services will be held at a later date.
