Carl Neil Watson

Carl Neil Watson, 84, passed away March 17, 2015 at the West Virginia Veterans Nursing Facility after a long decline. The son of the late Cecil William Watson and Mary Irene Zickefoose Watson, he was born February 17, 1931, in Morgantown. After serving in the West Virginia National Guard and qualifying as a marksman, Carl enlisted in the U.S. Army Engineers with his brother, Earl. Upon discharge Carl worked at many jobs and traveled throughout the United States. Carl spent many of his later years in Morgantown and eventually he lived with Ed and Mary Sims. Many thanks go out to them and their wonderful care. Carl attended Riverside Apostolic Church with them. Carl is survived by a brother and his wife, James and Loretta Watson and their family of Ohio; and many nephews and a niece along with grand nieces and nephews who reside in Morgantown, and Ohio. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his older sister, Dolores Starkey; and younger brothers, Cecil "Junior" Watson and Earl Watson. Family and friends will be received at Fred L. Jenkins Funeral Home on Sunday, March 22, 2015 from 11 a.m. until the 1 p.m. service, with Bishop David Hudson officiating. Interment will follow at East Oak Grove Cemetery.
