Burdett Allen Cogar

March 27, 1951 — July 6, 2012

Burdett Allen Big Al' Cogar, 62, of Fort Martin, WV passed away Saturday July 6, 2013 at the Monongalia General Hospital. He was born March 27, 1951 in Morgantown, son to the late Okey and Juanita Thomas Cogar. Allen was a graduate of Morgantown High School and WVU. He most recently worked for Automotive Color Technologies. Allen enjoyed the outdoors. He especially liked helping on the family farm. Allen was a member of the Fort Martin United Methodist Church. He is survived by one brother Ed Cogar and wife Brenda of Fort Martin; nieces, Gretchen Gutta and husband Tony of Morgantown, Heidi Patterson and husband Josh of Kingwood and Erica Batton and husband Billy of Morgantown; great nieces and nephews, J.D. Patterson, Abby Gutta, Anthony Gutta and Haylee Batton. Allen also cherished time spent with his faithful canine companion Taffy. Friends will be received at the Fred L. Jenkins Funeral Home on Monday July 8, 2013 from 4 to 7pm. Funeral services will be held 2pm Tuesday at the funeral home with Pastor Al Flaitz officiating. Honoring Allen's wishes cremation will follow. In lieu of flowers donations can be made to the Ft. Martin United Methodist Church C/O Velma Slavensky 124 Davis Heights, Maidsville, WV 26541.
