Bruce Duane Linton Bruce Duane Linton, 84, of Morgantown, went to be with the Lord Wednesday afternoon, September 19, 2012, at his home surrounded by his family. He was born May 7, 1928 in Morgantown, where he attended Morgantown High School and graduated in the class of 1946. He was a Staff Sergeant in the US Army and served 3 years in Germany during the post WWII era. He spent 2 years in the reserves at Fort A.P. Hill, VA and Camp Rutger, AL during the Korean Conflict era. He worked for the U S Postal Service as a Railway mail clerk on the U S Railroad and retired from the Morgantown Post Office. He was a member of the Morgantown Revival Center for 57 years. Bruce spent his young life building a home and family with his wife, Shirley. Hard work, music and family were his life. He taught his children to play and sing bluegrass and gospel music. He was an accomplished singer and musician, performing with many local bands. One of his proudest achievements was being inducted into the West Virginia Music Hall of Fame. He was a hard worker and enjoyed gardening, wood working, hunting, Pirates baseball and reading western books. He was an honest and good man. He always had a story or a joke for a friend. He is survived by his wife Shirley Trickett Linton; daughter Beverly Hornbeck; sons Bradley and Kathryn Linton, Michael and Beverly Linton; grandchildren Brandon Linton, Becky Linton Dammeyer, Kyle Seymour, Devon Linton, Lance Seymour; Great grandchildren Sydney Pander, Sequoia, Shannon and Savannah Linton and Dakota Dammeyer , and his beloved dog Sandy. He was preceded in death by his parents Dayton A. Linton and Josephine F. Mitchell Linton, a sister Freda I. Linton, son in law Ronald L. Hornbeck and his granddaughter Barbara Kayann Linton. A special thanks to special people, Robyn, Megan and Debbie from Care Partners. Friends may call at the Fred L. Jenkins Funeral on Friday, Sept.21, 2012 from 4pm until 8pm and again on Saturday from 10am until the time of services at 11am with Pastor Dana McKenzie officiating. Burial will follow in the Mt.
