Bev Soccorsi, 65, of Morgantown, WV, passed away peacefully, at her sister's home, on October 30, 2023. She was born Beverley Annette Soccorsi on March 20, 1958, in Morgantown, WV, to the late Wavelene Agnes (Gregory) Soccorsi and the late Alfred Smith Soccorsi. Beverley’s brother, Roger “Big Cat” Soccorsi, also preceded her in death. Bev was a beloved daughter, sister, aunt, and great aunt who cherished her family and friends.
Beverley lived her life with a passion for connecting with others. She was a dedicated Crisis Intervention Specialist at Valley HealthCare, where she made a positive impact on the lives of many. Her warm and caring nature endeared her to all who knew her, and she considered her friends a part of her extended family. A devout Christian, Beverley believed in completing her mission on Earth before joining Jesus in Heaven. She was always ready to share her faith and spread the message of love and salvation. Her best friend, Kim Taylor, helped Bev get through the ups and downs of life for more than thirty years.
In her free time, Beverley found joy in worshiping the Lord. From a young age, she actively participated in choirs and worship groups, often singing alongside her sister, Cindi Staley, and her dear friend, Karen Ebert. For over 13 years, she delighted in singing at the Manchin Clinic nursing home in Fairmont, until the pandemic prevented their visits. Beverley's passion for worshiping and praising God was a true testament to her strong faith.
Beverley is survived by her sister, Cynthia Jane Staley, and her brother-in-law, Glen Staley. She was a loving aunt to her nephew, Joshua Staley, and his wife, Jennifer, and her niece, Jessica Staley Colebank, and her fiancé, Bill Yaskoweak. She also leaves behind her great nephews, Tyler Colebank and Marcus Staley, and her great niece, Lily Staley. Beverley cherished the time spent with her family, especially during holiday get-togethers, creating cherished memories that will be treasured forever.
Beverley's educational journey began at Brookhaven Elementary and continued at Morgantown High School. She furthered her education at West Virginia University, where she pursued her academic interests. She graduated with a Bachelor of Social Work degree in 1980.
A "Celebration of Life" service will be held on Saturday, November 18th, from 11 am to 12 pm at Cheat Lake Community Church, located at 527 Tyrone Road, Morgantown, WV. Friends and family are invited to join in honoring Beverley's life and legacy during this special service.
In lieu of flowers, Beverley would appreciate remembrance gifts to be made to her church. Contributions will help support the mission and work of Cheat Lake Community Church.
