Betty Jane Everly Wilson, 74, of Morgantown passed away Sunday August 21, 2011 at Monongalia General Hospital. She was born October 14, 1936 in Smithfield, PA the daughter of the late Everett and Anna Everly. She was Methodist by faith. Betty graduated from Point Marion High School. After graduation, she worked for Aetna Insurance in Pittsburgh, PA. On February 22, 1958 she married her beloved husband George W. Bill' Wilson who said to her "marry me and I'll show you the world". She said yes and he did, indeed, show her the world during his career with U.S. Army. Betty loved to share stories with others about the places she lived and the things she had experienced. Her favorite place was Hawaii, where she lived for three years and made many wonderful lifelong friends. She was a wonderful homemaker who was able to give her family a warm and loving home no matter where they were stationed. Betty was a loving wife, mom and memaw and she enjoyed spending time with family. Her greatest joy has been her only grandchild, Colleen, who she enjoyed playing with and loved sharing stories with everyone about her. Betty was a stranger to no one and was a kind sweet soul. She loved music and played piano for her church and Sunday school. Recently she became a golf fan and watched all the tournaments on television. Betty is survived by her son Michael D. Wilson of Morgantown; daughter and best friend Lisa A. Christopher; son-in-law Jeff Christopher; granddaughter Colleen Madison Christopher; and her brother John and wife Elaine of Washington, D.C. In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her husband of 46 years, George W. Bill' Wilson, her very special Aunt Helen Rogan and several aunts and uncles. The family would like to thank Dr. Jame Abraham for his kind, compassionate care, the staff at Monongalia General emergency room and especially the outstanding nursing staff in ICU. Private funeral services were held at the Fred L. Jenkins Funeral Home on August 24, 2011 and burial was at Beverly Hills Memorial Gardens.
