Betty J. Trader, 92, of Granville, formally of Pursglove, passed away peacefully on April 18, 2019, surrounded by her family.
Betty was born on January 9, 1927, the daughter of the late Eugene Layman and Eula V. Metz Layman.
Betty worked at Mylan and retired in 1992. She was an avid gardener, growing beautiful flowers and a bountiful harvest of vegetables.
Betty is survived by her two daughters, Brenda Ziehm and her husband, Jay, and Janet Dungey; Three grandchildren: Traci Mays and her husband, Robert, Jay Ziehm II and his wife, Brenda, and Noah Dungey and his wife, Jamie; four great grandchildren: Jakob Mays and his wife, Danielle, Emalee Mays, Cora Sanders, Briannah Ziehm; two great great grandchildren, Andrew and Vivianna Mays; two brothers, William ‘Bill’ Layman of Kentucky and Russell Layman of Moundsville, WV; and several loving nieces and nephews.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, R. Frank Trader; a nephew whom she raised as her son, Robert ‘Bobby’ Layman; a foster child, Donna Wycoff; seven brothers; and one sister.
Family will receive friends at Fred L. Jenkins Funeral Home on Tuesday, April 23, 2019 from 4 to 7pm and again on Wednesday, April 24, 2019 from 10am until the 11am funeral service with Rev. Norma Stimmell officiating. Burial will follow at Bethel Church Cemetery.
The family would like to give a special thanks to the nurses and staff of Morgantown Amedisys Hospice for the wonderful care and compassion given to Betty. In lieu of flowers the family asks that donations be made in Betty’s memory to Amedisys Hospice 3596 Collins Ferry Rd #250, Morgantown, WV 26505.
