Betty Jean (Miller) Lewis, a life-long resident of Granville, passed away peacefully on Sunday, December 21, 2025. She was born on May 25, 1933, in Granville, the daughter of the late Jasper and Ida Woody Miller.
Betty and her late husband Eldon loved to travel, especially to Myrtle Beach every September to celebrate Eldon’s birthday. Together, they enjoyed taking cruises, dancing, bowling, decorating for the holidays, and participating in events at the senior center when their health still permitted.
She enjoyed baking cookies and making peanut butter fudge for her family every year during the holidays. Betty was a life member of the Women of the Moose and earned the “College of Regents” degree. She worked at the Moose Lodge for many years, then at the Big B Supermarket and eventually retired from Lowes.
She is survived by her son and daughter-in-law Joe and Patty Lewis, her grandsons JD (Robin) Lewis and Craig Lewis; great-grandchildren Cara Lewis, and Christian and Maddie Walls; her brothers Kenny (Peggy) Miller and Bobby (Irene) Miller; also surviving are Rosalee, Carolyn, and many nieces and nephews.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her precious daughter Diana Kay; her husband of 21 years, Eldon Moore; her beloved sister and best friend, Pauline and brother-in-law Don Morris; her brother and sister-in-law Dusty and Marie Miller; and her former husband Claude (Pluto) Lewis; and Glen.
The family wishes to express heartfelt gratitude to the staff of Harmony at Morgantown and to Amedisys Hospice Care for the special attention extended to Betty during her final years.
