Betty Frances Degroot

Betty Frances DeGroot, 85, of Bridgeport, WV, formerly of Sioux Center, IA, passed away on November 2, 2016 in Morgantown, WV. She was born January 2, 1931, in Sioux Center, IA, daughter of the late John Mieras and Alice DeBoer Mieras.

Betty was a homemaker for many years. Betty enjoyed Reading, Gardening and spending time with family.

Betty is survived by her husband of 67 years, Marvin ‘Bud’ DeGroot, of Bridgeport, WV sons, Bruce DeGroot and wife Tanna of Core, WV, Robert ‘Bob’ DeGroot Mukwonago, WI; grandchildren, Bruce DeGroot, Jr. of Fairmont, WV, Venus Deluga of Core, WV, Amber Muir, of Pittsburgh, PA, Devin DeGroot of Waukesha, WI, Danielle DeGroot of Mukwonago, WI and four great grandchildren. She is also survived by two sisters, Marlene DenHerder of Tucson, AZ and Charlotte Vermeer of Sioux Center. IA

In addition to her parents, Betty was preceded in death by one son, Brian DeGroot and her father and mother-in-law Henry and Jennie DeGroot.

Memorial services will be held at 11am on December 3, 2016 at the First Reformed Church in Sioux Center, Iowa.
