Belinda Sue Wolfe, affectionately known as Mama Bee, passed away on October 28, 2024, at the age of 54, surrounded by love and family at her home in Morgantown, WV, after a courageous six-year battle with cancer. A beacon of kindness and generosity, her warm presence was a comfort to all who knew her.
Born on September 5, 1970, in Morgantown, Mama Bee grew up with a soul full of music and an open door to everyone in need. Her kind heart led her down a path of caring and warmth, making an indelible mark on her community. Mama Bee's life was one of service and simple pleasures, touching countless lives with her gentle spirit and easygoing nature.
Mama Bee leaves behind a legacy of love and cherished memories. She is survived by her loving daughters, Miranda Wolfe, Emily (Aaron) Robinson Lewis, Kaitlynn Wolfe, and Keshia Stevens; son-in-law, Josiah Lockett; her dear grandchildren, DeAngelo Wolfe, Skyleigh Lewis, Wyatt Lewis, Dashaun Stevens and his fiancée Grace Johnson, Akeelah Lockett, and Zaiiden Lockett; her adorable great-grandchildren, Jahseh and Zaniah Stevens, and one baby girl expected to join the family. She also leaves behind her devoted brother, Rick (Stephanie) Stevens of Cumming, GA, sister, Rita (Rob) Mayle of Fairview, WV, and brother, Jeff Stevens of Morgantown, as well as a host of nieces, nephews, and her beloved cat, Ringer.
Preceding her in death were her parents, George and Mary Virginia Stevens, and her faithful canine companion, Mama.
Mama Bee's departure has left a void in the community she so lovingly embraced. A well-known figure to many, she carried the essence of kindness wherever she went. As she famously made known, her life should be celebrated with joy, not adorned with sorrow—into every heart she met, she instilled the wisdom of the well-known proverb "To the world, you may be one person, but to one person you may be the world."
In homage to her wishes, Mama Bee’s life will be commemorated in a fashion true to her desires: with music, laughter, and the sharing of fond memories. Her beautiful soul, exemplified by her friendliness and generosity, will not be forgotten but will continue to inspire and influence the world for generations to come.
Celebration of Life Service is being planned and will be announced later.
