Barbara Ann Halki Murphy, 75, life long resident of Morgantown passed away on Monday May 19, 2014, at the home of her late brother, Dr. John Jack' Halki in Beavercreek, OH, where she resided due to declining health. She was preceded in death by her parents John S. and Ann Uhler Halki and nephew J. Truman Halki. Bobbie was a graduate of Morgantown High class of 57' where she was an active band member as a majorette and saxophonist, also playing in the orchestra. She was an avid dancer from a young age and studied at the Mac Dowell Dance Studio where she was in many productions and was a solo performer over the years. After graduation, she studied book keeping and was employed by the Vance Coal Co. retiring after 41 years of dedicated service. Very artistic, she will be remembered for her many talents and beautiful ceramics. Most of all, her family and friends were gifted with her loving and caring nature. She is survived by her sister-in-law Betsy Halki of Beavercreek, OH; niece Carla and husband John Mathews of Columbus, OH; nephews Dr. John Jay' Halki of Reno, NV and T. Kim Halki of Greenville, WV; two step-sons Michael Murphy of Carefree, AZ, Patrick Murphy of Fairmont, WV; six great nieces, two great nephews and numerous cousins. Friends will be received at the Fred L. Jenkins Funeral Home Wednesday May 28, 2014 from 1pm-3pm. Funeral services will follow at 3pm Wednesday in the Fred L. Jenkins Chapel of Prayer with Mr. Roger Brucker officiating. Burial will follow at Beverly Hills Memorial Gardens. The family requests that in lieu of flowers, donations be made to the Leukemia & Lymphoma Society, Inc. P.O. Box 9026 Pittsfield, MA 01202.
