Susie married her former husband, Charles Edward Haas, on July 15, 1958, and together they

raised four children. As their family grew, Susie enjoyed many precious hours with her seven

grandchildren and six great-grandchildren. Her legacy is carried on by her daughter Tammy

wrestling meets, cheerleading events, field trips, classroom parties and so much more. One of Susie’s favorite activity was baking nut rolls at Christmas with her children and grandchildren.

She was known to her grandchildren and great-grandchildren by many adoring names;

Grandma Susie, Grandma Buckie, Grammie, and Grandma.

Susie’s career of choice was Licensed Practical Nurse or LPN. She graduated from the

Monongalia County Schools LPN program on November 27, 1978, and went on to serve as

president of The LPN Nurses Association, for which she was very honored. Later, she worked at

hospitals and clinics in the Morgantown area and served as a traveling nurse for hospice

patients. Susie also served as a site nurse for Bechtal Construction Company, both in

Morgantown and New Jersey. After returning to Morgantown in December 1996, Susie was

employed by Monongalia EMS as an Administrative Assistant/Dispatcher, where she retired

December 15, 2016, after 20 years of service. She considered the staff at EMS her extended

family and loved them all.
