Barbara Jean Bice

Barbara Jean Bice, age 76, of Fairmont, WV, passed away at Ruby Memorial Hospital on Monday, November 7, 2022 with her family by her side.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Chauncey Guy Johnson and Vivian Evelyn Twigg Johnson; one sister, Margaret Johnson; and a step-daughter, Melinda Adams.

Barbara is survived by her loving husband, William Bice; two daughters, Donna Wilhelm and Vivian (Michael) Neely; five step-children, Bonnie Shaffer, Vickie Govine, Timothy Wilhelm, Tom Bice, and Billy Bice; three brothers, Ronald, Albert, and Allen Johnson; three sisters, Suzy Johnson, Gracie Donaldson, and Dottie Kimball; as well as 15 grandchildren and several great-grandchildren.

Barbara spent many years working in retail sales until she was able to retire. In her spare time, she enjoyed embroidering, reading, and antiquing for “treasures”. Her family referred to her as a truly selfless woman. She was very giving of her time and love. She had a strong appreciation for her country and the armed forces.

Family and friends are invited to gather at Fred Jenkins Funeral Home on Wednesday, November 9, 2022 from 1 PM-3 PM & 6 PM-8 PM and again on Thursday, November 10, 2022 from 10 AM until the time of service at 11 AM. Barbara will be laid to rest amongst family at Pleasant Hills Cemetery.
