Bailynn Daisy Mae Kirk, was born January 16, 2015 at WVU Children's Hospital in Morgantown. One week later Bailynn was flown to Nationwide Children's Hospital in Columbus, OH where she underwent corrective surgery for Hypoplastic Left Heart Syndrome. Bailynn had an incredible fighting spirit that amazed her family and medical staff; she was a true miracle in every sense. On Wednesday, April 8, 2015, Bailynn entered into the kingdom of heaven and now rests in presence of the Lord Jesus. Although just two months and 23 days old, baby Bailynn significantly impacted the lives of so many people around the country who had learned of her story and faithfully lifted her and her family up in prayer. Bailynn will continue to live in the hearts of those who love her and her legacy will remain. Bailynn's family made the decision to donate her tissues, which will allow other children to have richer, fuller lives. The recipients may never know about Bailynn and her story, but they will again experience laughter, joy, hope and happiness through her generous gift. Bailynn is survived by her mother and father, Erin Mae Smith Kirk and Brandon Dwight Kirk of Terra Alta, WV; maternal grandparents, Randy and Sue Smith; paternal grandparents, Barry and Michele Kirk; aunts and uncles, Dr. Holly Kirk Robinson and husband Jason, David Kirk, Jonathan Kirk, Zac Smith and wife KT Brant-Smith and Tom Smith. Also surviving are her great grandmothers, Clara Lockhart and Marianne Taylor and great grandfather Bob Smith. Bailynn was preceded in death by her great grandmothers, Daisy Smith and Blanche Kirk and great grandfathers, George Taylor, George Kirk and Freddie Lockhart. Friends will be received on Monday, April 13, 2015 at the Hillcrest Chapel, Terra Alta, WV from noon until 1pm. Funeral services will be held at 1:30 pm with her grandfather Barry Kirk and close family friend Henry Sardina officiating. Burial will follow at the Terra Alta Cemetery.
