Anthony Volk

Anthony Tony' Volk, 88, of Morgantown, died Saturday, October 18, 2014 at Monongalia General Hospital. He was born in the former country of Yugoslavia, now Slovenia, on April 13, 1926, son of the late Maria Meznar Volk and Andreja Volk. Anthony worked for Star City Glass and as a custodian at WVU, Monongalia County Schools and St. Francis Grade School. He is survived by nieces and nephews in Slovenia and the United States. Anthony made his home with Theresa Rose Hlad and son Louis for the past 55 years. He was an avid gardener and beloved wine maker. Also, Tony was a member of St. Mary's Catholic Church in Star City and a lifetime member of the SNPJ, the Slovenian National Benefit Society. Friends may call at the Fred Jenkins Funeral Home on Monday, October 20, 2014 from 2-4 and 6-8pm and again on Tuesday at the St. Mary Catholic Church from 10am until the 11am Mass of Christian Burial with Rev. Father John V. DiBacco, as celebrant. Entombment will follow at the St. Mary Peace Garden Mausoleum.
