Anthony Johnny Fata, 79 of Cassville passed away Thursday June 2, 2011 at the Monongalia General Hospital. He was born March 11, 1932 in Osage son of the late Michael and Mary Rock Fata. Anthony retired from GE Specialty Chemical Plant. Anthony was an avid outdoorsman who loved to hunt, fish. He was a member of the Mt. Morris Sportsman Club and the Mountain Top Hunting Club of Davis, WV. He especially enjoyed camping with his family. In his younger years he played both softball and baseball. He was also a talented harmonica player. Anthony was a member of the St. Ursula's Catholic Church where he was a reader and later St. Mary's Catholic Church, Star City. Anthony is survived by his wife of 58 years Donna Hellyer Fata; daughter Andrea J. Fata of Alexandria, VA; son Anthony A. Tiger' Fata and wife Vickey of Morgantown; four grandchildren, Trista Kay Pervola and husband Joseph of Morgantown, Anthony M. Fata, Erica Riley and Jessica Riley all of Morgantown; three great grandchildren, Madan Dominic Mayle, Shyann Mayle, Briston Jake Riley all of Morgantown, and two great grandchildren on the way. Also surviving are two sisters, Josephine Solomon and Carmela Tootsie' Ervin and husband Lewis all Osage and several nieces and nephews. In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by two brothers, Frank and Johnny Fata and one sister Rose Marie Hellyer. Friends may call at the Fred L. Jenkins Funeral Home Sunday June 5, 2011 from 3-8pm and again on Monday from 12 noon until time of services at 1pm with the Rev. Father Fred Byrne officiating. Burial will follow at the East Oak Grove Cemetery.
