Amelia Marguerite Schifano, 82, of Morgantown passed away on Tuesday July 9, 2013. She was born December 4, 1930, the daughter of the late John and Julia Smile. Amelia was a 1947 graduate of UHS. After graduating she worked at CONSOL as a payroll clerk until she met and married the late Tony Schifano, Sr. in 1953. In 1962 they opened and operated Schifano's Grocery until her retirement in 1990. She was a loving mother, grandmother, and great grandmother, who loved spending time with her family. She is survived by three children Linda Vankirk and husband Dennis, Peggy Lovio and husband Bob, Tony Schifano, Jr. and wife Dianne; five grandchildren Bryan Vankirk, Andrea Warnick and husband Chad, Anthony Schifano, Ashley Schifano, John Lovio; and three great grandchildren Kamryn Vankirk, Conner Warnick, and Madisyn Warnick all of Morgantown. The family would like to thank the doctors and nurses of Ruby Memorial Hospital 9 West for all of their love and support through this difficult time. Family and friends will be received at the Fred L. Jenkins Funeral Home Thursday July 11, 2013 from 3-9pm with a vigil service at 7pm. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held Friday at 11am at St. Mary Roman Catholic Church with Rev. Fr. John V. DiBacco as celebrant. Burial will follow at East Oak Grove Cemetery.
