Alma Ruth Mercer, 87, of Morgantown, passed away on Friday October 21, 2016 at her home with her family by her side. She was born May 31, 1929 in River Rouge, MI a daughter of the late Paul and Priscilla Szasz Pozar.
Alma owned and operated the Walnut Street Flea Market with her sister. She enjoyed sewing, quilting, crocheting, and going to flea markets and auctions. She loved spending time with her family and making up games for the family to enjoy.
She is survived by a son and his wife, Robert Jr. and Lisa Mercer; a daughter, Cathryn Mercer; grandchildren: Christine Devlin, Melissa Mercer and fiancé Richard L. Coleman, Robert John Mercer and Denise Spring Mercer; seven great grandchildren; sister Irene Twigg; several nieces and nephews; and close family friends Mike Devlin and Tracy Brubaker.
In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her beloved husband of 59 years Robert Arthur Mercer, Sr.; great grandson Robert Matthew Mercer; brother Arthur Pozar; sister Caroline Pozar.
Family and friends will be received at Fred L. Jenkins Funeral Home on Tuesday October 25, 2016 from 12pm noon until the time of funeral service at 1pm with Rev. Mr. Joseph Prentiss officiating. Burial will follow at Beverly Hills Memorial Gardens.
